Hello!
My name is Sarah Fritsche. I cook, I eat, I drink, and I write.
I’m a recipe developer, editor, content creator, food stylist, and photographer. For over a decade I was a staff writer with The San Francisco Chronicle’s James Beard Award-winning Food team, where I reported on the Bay Area’s obsession with all things food. My recipes and writing have also been featured on The Cheese Professor and Simply Recipes. As a consultant, I’ve worked with a variety of corporate clients, including Laura Chenel, Dough Wines, Resy, and Good Eggs.
I earned my culinary degree from the California Culinary Academy and have worked in professional kitchens. I also headed up The Chronicle’s former test kitchen (for my full resume, please visit my LinkedIn profile).
During my years with The Chronicle, I reported on farmers’ markets, seasonal produce, culinary entrepreneurs, and high profile restaurant openings. I also interviewed some of the world’s most talented chefs and cookbook authors, including Jacques Pepin, Rene Redzepi, Reem Assil, Julia Turshen, Nik Sharma, Dorie Greenspan, Michael Solomonov, and Nigella Lawson.
Inspired by these culinary luminaries, among others, along with my years of experience in the kitchen, I believe that producing high quality, engaging food content has the ability to nourish, empower, and quite simply, make people’s lives better.
Whether it’s creating my own seasonal recipes, editing chef-contributed content, or styling and photographing food, I strive to inspire people to find joy in the kitchen.
Do you want to collaborate? Drop me a line.
